I’m already feeling excited about 2018 and getting a buzzing feeling on the inside to tackle all my ideas and plans now. One thing I have started to ponder is my 3 words for 2018. This year I have had some wonderful mentors in my life who encouraged me at the start of 2017 to write down 3 words for the year.
The idea of 3 words (not 1, 5 or 10) is that 3 words can stand alone, or can work together. I guess you could call it a Manifesto, a framework for the year of what you want to happen and who you want to become. I let these 3 words sit by my computer where I could see them daily as a reminder, a guide and encouragement. This has been the first year I have done 3 words (in the past I have just done 1 word) and it truly has helped shaped the year to be one of most fulfilling years yet.
My 2017 words were:
- Expansion – expansive thinking, in believing for bigger and greater things, even when it looks impossible. To expand emotionally, physically and spiritually, so I have space for greater love for myself and others.
- Abundance – living abundantly, and letting go of a mindset of lack and negativity. Abundance is not accumulating more stuff, but going without so to gain more, so my choices are ethical and conscious. Abundance in all areas, finances, wellness, loving relationships, and to be willing to give and receive, even when it’s scary.
- Writing – a creative expression, making time, connecting with people. Letting go of fear and doubts and dedicate time and see where it takes me.
If you want to explore more about 3 words Chris Brogan explains how to choose your words here. I hope you will have a go and please share with me! I’ll look forward to sharing my 2018 words with you early next year.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, healthy New Year, full of laughter and good times.
